Can trauma cause negative ulnar variance

I am a registered nurse. I was moving a patient three months ago that had bilateral upper and lower broken bones so I had to grab near her buttocks. We used a draw sheet to transfer her from the bed to the wheelchair and most of the weight was from her buttocks and thighs while I used my hand/wrist. My wrist has hurt for a solid three months. The employee health clinic said that everything was fine because I've had full range of motion from day one. My wrist just gets extremely weak since this. Finally an x-ray was completed and it showed that I have negative ulnar variance. Employee health said this was a congenital finding and not related to my injury. I've never had problems with either one of my wrist in my entire life. Now my left wrist is very weak and hurts a lot. Any feedback?

Could have the trauma from moving the patient caused this negative ulnar variance?
