    De Quervain’s tenosynovitis

Has anyone ever had De Quervain’s tenosynovitis.
I have just been diagnosed with it after severe wrist and thumb pain for a few months

Hi, what are your symptoms?. Ive looked up this condition, i havent really heard much but that it affects thumb, ive been having pain clicking at base of thumb. hurts to grab stuff, sometimes it wants to get stuck. i have a possible rotator cuff (retear) and i was wondering if that was what was causing it to hurt but now im wondering if it is a completely different issue. Will have to mention to my doc next time i see him. What does your Dr plan on doing?

I have it, I've had three cortisone shots, the last one three months ago and it's come back already worse than ever. I can't get another shot anytime soon so I'm thinking about having the surgery. Only problem with that besides, I don't really want it is, I babysit my grandchildren. Hope yours gets better soon.

Hi kate222, sorry to hear you have this. Does the shot hurt? I know the cortisone shot for trigger finger hurts a lot from what i have heard. My thumb still hurts, haven't seen dr for it yet. Need to do that soon :/ hope it works out for you

The cortisone shots do hurt a lot because they are given right in The joint. The first two shots I had worked great, lasted 6 months or more, but this last one only lasted 2 months. Not sure what I'm going to do.
