Removing metal plate on my Humerus?

I have a metal plate on my right arm humerus bone screwed in with 13 screws. I have had it in for nearly 14 years now and haven't had any real problem with it until very recently. I have started to experience discomfort and sometimes quite a bit of pain when i try to move my arm on certain positions, especially when i try to lift my arm over my head or sideways. Should i remove the plate now? I really don't know what to do about it.

When my daughter broke both bones in her left forearm, she had a plate and screws installed to stabilize the bones. We were told to have the plate and screws removed a year later, which we did. If the arm is giving you pain or problems now, you should probably return to the orthopedist and see if you need to have the plate and screws removed.

I had to have a plate and screws removed from my foot. Two screws were hitting nerves. Very common to have problems with hardware so I would see and ortho and take it from there.
