    Bruised fingers

    I saw a doctor today.

Seven days ago I was holding two pills in my hand and slammed my fingers straight down on a hard counter in anger. By the evening my fingers felt ok. I then scooped some ice cream and felt significant pain which I thought was temporary. It was not temporary.

My fingers are still swollen. Not a lot of pain. No bruising. Just swelling. I can not make a closed fist.

Doctor said to tape fingers but that only causes more pain and swelling.

When I move my fingers they sometimes hurt. Does that mean I should not move them? A physical therapist said I should do exercises which contradicts what the doctor told me.

Has anyone had an injury like this? What should I do?
