Possible ligament tear and/or fracture in wrist

About 3 weeks ago, I had one of my kids at work take a fall, and I caught her in my arms, and it ended up hyperextending my wrist, it swelled a little bit and became extremely sore. Later that day, I tripped and landed on my wrist.

I went to urgent care, they x-rayed it, and said that it was just sprained and to ice it and wear an ACE wrap for a week.

I didn't think it had gotten any better -- the swelling was gone, but it was just as painful, very sore, decreased ROM (range of motion), and my hand will go numb on and off -- everything is on the lateral side of my wrist/hand (so by my pinky)...so I went to the other urgent care and they put me in a splint and said to follow up with an ortho.

I *finally* got to see the orthopedist on Monday, and what I got, I'm not really sure can be classified as good news exactly, but I am closer to getting the correct diagnosis and treatment.

She said that she suspects either a TFCC -- Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex tear (ligaments) and/or a hamate hook (small bone) fracture, so I have to get an MRI done, and depending on the results of that, may have to see a hand specialist and possibly have surgery.

BUT, the good news for now at least is that she gave me a prescription for Percocet to help with the pain, and also took me out of the generic splint from urgent care and put me in a much more comfortable, much lower profile one that still provides plenty of support but doesn't get in the way of everything.

I'm hoping to get the MRI soon, but it has yet to be scheduled, and of course, find out the results.

Has anyone ever had this kind of injury before?

I'm not sure if this makes any difference, but also, in the last few days, I have noticed palpable and audible clicking in my wrist, especially when I move my ring finger.
