Intense pain at back of knee

Hello everyone,
I have been diagnosed with both knee arthritis and fibromyalgia.
I have intense pain at the back of knee, as well as pain in the muscles and tendons above and below the knee?

Have any of you with osteoarthritis of the knee experienced this kind of pain?

If this pain is a result of osteoarthritis, I may consider knee replacement.
If not, I need to look at other treatments.

Thank you so much!

Hi Karen, do you maintain medicines? try a natural way like blending fruits and vegetable or juicing. It help you lot. Do not depend on synthetic medicines.

Re: Intense pain at back of knee

I was diagnosed today with Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia and have the same issue with my left knee. An MRI/Xray showed a Bakers Cyst. Perhaps speak to your **. about this. My **. did a steroid injection, we'll see if it helps. She also prescribed 100 mg of Celebrex per day. I am a wreck as I've always been active and full of life. I'm worried that this is sucking the life out of me. Hang in there and keep us posted!

Re: Intense pain at back of knee

Here are my tips:
1. it is necessary to reduce the load on the joints
2. buy comfortable shoes (orthopedic, with a soft sole and comfortable heel)
3. Normalization of body weight (see article about the mass index)
4. therapeutic gymnastics
5. physiotherapy appointments by a physician
6. refusal of coffee and cigarettes.
I can also advise the gel, write to me if it's actual in private messages

Re: Intense pain at back of knee

Osteoarthritis doesn't usually cause pain at the back of the knee. That kind of pain is more likely to be caused by a baker's cyst. You may even be able to feel it -- it feels like a lump on the back of your knee. My baker's cyst went away when I had my knee replaced, but there may be other treatments available. Talk to your orthopedist.
