  • Heel pain?

    Heel pain?

    I am a 65 year old female. I have not been diagnosed with arthritis yet.My heels have been painful especially when I wake up in the morning,step on the floor so much pain to walk. Anyone have this?

    You might consider seeing a Podiatrist, it's possibly Plantar Fasciitis.

    I agree. There are ways to deal with that- roll frozen bottles with your feet, exercizes that stretch the plantar fascia, etc.

    Thanks I'm thinking that's it. I think I need better arch support so going to try that. That might be an aging thing needing more support. All the weight going to to front and heal.

    Stretching your calves may also help, as overload of the plantar fascia is often due to tight calves.

    If you used to wear heels and now are in flatter shoes, that's a common cause because the heels shorten you muscles and tendons and flat pull on that. Stretches/calf raises are helpful.
