Question RA factor question

I have been tested for many things, and I have posted on many boards (Lupus, MS, Neuropathy, Lyme Disease, now here) My symptoms are many, and they change, but the most dibilitating is the pins & needles in my hands and feet, it is CONSTANT. I have joint pain in my fingers, hands, elbows, knees, but the joint pain was actually one of my 1st symptoms, and it comes & goes, my main problem like I said is my feet & hands constantly with pins & needles. The reason I am posting here is because of ALL the blood work I have had, the only one that came back abnormal was my RA factor, normal was >14, and the 1st test came back as 19, so my GP sent me to a Rheumatologist, he re-tested me for all the same things, (Lupus etc..) and the RA came back as 24, he was not concerned, he looked at my hands with a little scope, and said it was fine. My sed rate was normal, and he thought maybe I have Reynauds, I do have very cold hands & feet all the time, but they don't change color like in Reynauds.
Can anyone tell me if this sounds like RA? or if not what would cause my RA factor to be high? is 24 considered high?
Thanks in advance.
No doctor is helping me so I am going from board to board to try & help myself!

Re: RA factor question

As I read your posting I was amazed. I have the same symptoms -joint and muscle pain in the hands, elbows, shoulder, and occasionally knee -(no tingling in hands and feet, but numbness in my feet). I also have many other disturbing symptoms some that come and go, some remain. I just got back from the doctor (Dermatologist that was looking at a rash) to learn that my RH factor is 24. After having strange symptoms for 9 months it is the first and only blood test that has come back abnormal. The Doctors keep saying its probably minor, but it does not feel minor. I am going to rhuemetologist in about three weeks. I would love to learn if you discover anything. Sorry I do not have any new information, but maybe it helps to know someone else is in a similar boat. It is frustrating because my doctors seem to be dismissing my symptoms. Maybe now that I have the elevated RH factor they can figure something out.

Smile Re: RA factor question

It does sound like you have RA. My advice to you would be to have your hands and feet nerve tested. I have had this done. It just shows you if your nerves are being damaged by RA.
