Unhappy My co-workers arthritis problem

Awhile back I posted about a co-worker who had severe arthritis and his wife has him taking herbal stuff for it.He keeps a bottle of Advil liqui-gels at work for the pain but its not working lately. His fingers are so disfigured and recently they, along with his hand, has swollen up like a balloon! He is in severe pain but still has yet to go to the doctor he use to see before his wife started him on the herbs.I have some Vicodin and Percocet from past injuries;will it help his pain if I give him some? I know its wrong but I can't stand to see him in pain!

Hi Diabetic 1,

I strongly urge your co-worker to seek medical advice!!!! All the pain meds will NOT help the swelling,"flares" he is undergoing!! I'm sorry to say, but some of those herbs maybe triggering some of these swellings. He needs to see a doctor, take bloodwork specifiically for arthritis, etc. so he can get the right kind of treatments. Some herbs are okay, but best to seek medical counsel, than taking a big chance with his help.

It's also not a good idea to ever share any medication with someone else, especially at the risk of an allergic reaction.
