Has anyone had elevated liver counts (AST, ALT and ALK) due to methotrexate? I have been on varying dosages of this med for years and now all of a sudden my liver counts have all soared. The ALK has been going up steadily for over a year. The other 2 just went up in the last 8 weeks.

Re: Methotrexate

I have been on this med for probably 12 years or so. My LFT's have always been normal until six months ago when my Alk started creeping up. Now the others have crept up to just slightly out of normal range. My doctor says not to worry about it but my step mom had her liver damaged with only a years use so I am very leery. I have stopped taking methotrexate in hopes that a bit of a med holiday will help things.
I hope you come up with a solution!! Methotrexate has really helped me a lot so I don't want to have to stop taking this all together.
Best wishes!
