ASD Assessment as an adult, how?

Heya all, how are we today?

As the title reads, I am just wondering if anyone knows how to go about having an ASD assessment as an adult? I have only just had my son diagnosed and even the paediatrician made comment on how very similar we are in Asperger's traits but everything has been so overwhelming with his dx and my other health issues that I didn't even think to ask her about the possibility of my own assessment.

I live in Australia so I assume things are different in each country, but I would still love to hear your stories please if you don't mind sharing with me

Many thanks!
K.

Re: ASD Assessment as an adult, how?

Happen to have any luck? After becoming aware of AS about 4-5 years ago, I have slowly determined I absolutely have it, just need an official DX to feel as it's proven to the world. The next time I see my primary doctor, I plan on just asking for the screening. Its the same way I was Dx'd with ADHD. I asked. Nurse and doctor each asked 5-10 questions. That was it. I don't see why AS couldn't be the same.

There is no convincing me I do not have it, at this point. I do not understand how everyone in my life missed this when I was growing up. If necessary I could draft a thesis proving my hypothesis--that alone should be enough to convince a disbeliever! Lol.
