I was diagnosed with them at the same time. Is there a connection? Does MCS cause or relate to it in some way?

No,they are separate issues but many people with asthma do have chemical sensitivities and allergies. They have to be treated separately.

Thanks I'm starting to untangle what happened to me. The dr said if I can get over MCS then I would still have asthma but not need an inhaler.

I think its the MCS that makes my life so miserable. I stayed home a whole summer dodging smells. My landlord has given up incense thru December MCS has gone down a few notches.

I'm a chemist and worked on/off in retail my whole life. MCS managed to take out both careers for me. Plus going to church.

I would beg to differ that you don't need an inhaler even if you still have asthma. It's forever and the best preventive for an attack is a daily med/inhaler. But you could probably get by on one puff a day - I do.

I'm wondering about that too titchou. I'm already down to one puff / day. Singulair takes out a lot of symptoms.

The good news is that the older you get the easier the chemical sensitivity can be. I'm 40 and actually started using a dented fabric softrner. First time ever and it doesn't smell like I'm dying. I never could deal with any of that kind of stuff for years, so it's cool that it's gotten better.

Melisal you made me laugh. There is one good thing about getting older. One other benefit I never do stuff to my hair anymore, its incredibly shiny and I love my natural color!
