Question Routine things to look out for with asthma

My main (nearly only asthma symptom is coughing), sometimes it goes somewhat unnoticed by me because everyone coughs.

Do things like humidifiers help or hurt? I keep an electronic temp thing in my room humidity stays around 50%.

Can pseudoephedra help clear lungs like it does your nose when you're sick?

Is that stuff that makes your coughs more productive ok to use with asthma?

I never carry the emergency inhaler, since its chemical fumes that set me off, I can just leave. I told the pharmacy to stop filling the prescription cause I have 3 I've never opened. Is it ok to keep one in my car? I live in San Diego so it's not like its going to freeze but could have high temps.

I haven't been exercising, cardio wise - is there a chance I could need it if I ever bother to do cardio?

I'm coming down with something, lying down I was coughing and choking on mucus. Sitting up I'm fine. Do you ever pile the pillows up and not lie flat when you can feel your chest is congested?

Thanks, sorry I know that was a lot to ask!
