    Qvar vs. Arnuity?

My insurance sucks, and won't cover Flovent, so my options are Qvar and Arnuity, both I've never heard of.

    Pros/cons to each?

My insurance also won't cover Xopenex, which really sucks because I am extremely sensitive to albuterol (it makes me very anxious and very jittery, but I'm not allergic to it so my doctor would have to get prior auth which is a PITA).

Thank goodness I'm switching to a new insurance next month! BOTH of my preferred meds are covered.

I use QNasl which is simply the nasal version of QVar...works well. And you can get Xoponex with a GoodRX coupon for $24. You can order Flovent and QVar from Canada for around $55 so take your pick.

    Thanks.

I can get Qvar for like $1 with my insurance since it's covered. So it's not a big deal. But the Xopenex thing is pretty huge.

WEll $24 is pretty cheap! Several places have it thru GoodRX between $24and$32

It's $33 on GoodRX at the lowest (except CVS pharmacy where it's $23) - I just checked. Still pretty cheap...but for my pharmacy it's $53 which almost twice what you said.

Well you can go to any of the pharmacies on the GoodRX list because that's the price for without using any insurance. I'd certainly do that than pay $53 with insurance!

What I mean is that at the pharmacy near me (the one that I use) it is $53 with GoodRX. It would cost me just as much to go to the next closest pharmacy with a lower price if I add in travel money.

Wow! You're that isolated. Sorry...there are several other sites where you can check for pricing near you. Or do you know someone in that town that could get it for you and mail it to you? Or ask your doc for a sample?

I'm out and need it, yesterday.

I don't wheeze, I cough, and I could barely get through a 7 minute phone call tonight.

Are you familiar with Campho-Phenique? It's a topical mostly for bites. Comes in a little green bottle. If you pour a little on a kleenex and inhale it's good for a cough. Old wives' cure....very soothing! It might help till you can search for a cheaper place...or use the albuterol and take a benedryl. Can't think of any other options.

    Never heard of it.

Albuterol isn't an option since I don't have a prescription for it and the doctor isn't open on Sunday.

Any large drug store should have it. Use it for coughs often when it's a mild one (not my annual bronchitis spell!)

    Unfortunately, Target doesn't have it.

No CVS? or WalMart? I know WalMart usually has it...CVS on every corner here...sorry but I just don't have more to offer unless you have some good cough syrup.

There isn't anything close to me but Target (which has a CVS pharmacy inside -- so CVS is the pharmacy I use).
