    pulmicort & briconyl vs flovent and ventolin

    my doctor switched my from pulmicort and briconyl to flovent and ventolin. What is the differance?

    Basically, its just a different steroid and a different reliever. If the brycanyl and pulmicort weren't working for you then maybe the flovent and ventolin will. Ventolin is a faster acting reliever, and flovent is a newer drug than pulmicort, but it is a personal thing, some people get on better with one than the other. I hope the new drugs work better for you.

    And pulmicort/bricanyl are tubuhalers flovent/ventolin MDI's (unless you are usingthe accuhaler for flovent). Also I'm pretty confident that flovent is a stronger inhaled steroid than pulmicort. At least from experiences (changing of my steroid inhalers over the yrs) and what dr's have said like I've been on inhalers in the 'correct order' or words to that effect. Hope the change works for you
