    Switching to Pulmicort from Advair??

I've had severe asthma and allergies since I was 4 years old. I've been taking all different types of asthma medication, from Tedral to theodore, then pulmicort, now advair and singulair.
I have been having chest pains and feeling like I have a deep wheeze going on all of the time. I haven't seen a specialist in a long time and I have an appt for the end of Dec., but my question is: Can I safely switch from Advair to Pulmicort? I really don't think that the steriod in Advair is as effective as the steroid in Pulmicort, but I'm not sure. Any info would be helpful. I am currently taking Singulair and flonase nasal spray as well. Thanks!
I've never heard of weight gain from Advair either, what about weight gain from Pulmicort?

The pulmicort works great, you inhale it just like you do with the advair, but it only contains a cortosteroid, and not the serevant (which can make you jittery). I was on pulmicort for a long, long time and I can't remember why I switched to Advair, but I'm thinking about switching back to pulmicort after I run out of advair. You should ask your doctor about it.

Hi do you know if pulmicort the same as taking the prednisole pills, the pred pills really mess up my mind i have no idea why they get me thinking the strangest things, its very scary so i am afraid of taking any steroid now doc said some people that is a side effect.
