is yogurt bad for asthma???

ive had bronchitis problems recently and my doctor told me to avoid milk and other dairy prducts. however the antibiotics destroyed all 'good' bacteria and my tongue got white coating so i stared eating tones of yogurt to balance it back; it helped to get rid of the white thrush.

does the same thing go for asthma??? dairy prdocts are not asthma friendly???

the reason im asking is that after my check-up last wednesday (i still had cough after antibiotic treatment) my doctor said that coughing might be a setup for minor asthma. then today pulmonologist confimed that im having asthma symptoms. i took it seriously casue since i was little ive always had to take a deeper breath for no particular reason, no matter what i was doing.

im a little scarred that now eating so much yogurt (and i love cheese too) it might be harmful for me. what do u guys think???
pain makes me stronger

Re: is yogurt bad for asthma???

Milk is a mucus producer but people that can not tolerate milk because of the mucus and lactose intolerance --- can usually eat yogurt and other fermented dairy products and tolerate them well.

Like Harry said milk can be mucus producing and can cause allergy symptoms in many individuals, so yes it can aggravate asthma if that's a trigger. Because I have a history of allergy and asthma I don't use any dairy products. Milk has lactose and also casein, some people have a casein allergy. Some people can tolerate yogurt and many cannot.
I use probiotics in caspule form that are milk free. Also, you may be able to tolerate goat milk yogurt which has only trace amounts of casein, which are often broken down by, I believe it is the good bacteria in the yogurt but don't quote me on it.
