Racing heart and asthma?

I have had some bouts with asthma due to bad allergy and sinus problems. This year I have been really struggling with lung issues after coming down with bronchitis in March. An x-ray in April showed bronchitis and I was given prednisone and an antibiotic.

What I notice now is

1. Tight chest off and on
2. Very dry throat and broken voice at times during the day
3. Buzzing in the lungs here and there--like there is mucus or gunk in there.
4. Heart fluttering ior even racing.

What concerns me the most is #4 -don't know if this is from the meds I'm taking (Singulair, Zyrtec, Prevacid) or if it is something else.

So I guess my question is, does anyone here with asthma have all these symptoms?

Well, the rescue inhaler can cause racing heart or palpitations.

Or, there could be something else going on. Acid reflux can cause sore throat and palpitations, believe it or not.

Do you feel like you are clear of the infection? Or is there some gunk still in your lungs?

Feels like there is a little bit of gunk in there, although if I breathe in and out, everything sounds pretty clear. Two rounds of antibiotics this year, so I assume the infection must be gone (I hope).

I have had some issues with acid reflux in the past as well.

Feels like mild asthma symptoms with mucus, in addition to my usual sinus and allergy problems.

Re: Racing heart and asthma?

I was told I had mild asthma last winter. Before that I was at my doctors office for tachycardia and high bp. My pulse was constantly racing ...resting was like 128bpm, I felt terrible. I had terrible shortness of breath and chest pain, my doctor first suspected heart trouble, then he was like...hmmm I think you have asthma!
