Respiractin

Guys

Has anybody tried RespirActin as a substitute to asthma maintenance meds like Advair/Provent?

Has it worked for you?

Currently I'm on Provent but a book I'm reading suggests taking respiractin 30 mins before exercise. On reading some other sources, it also seems you can use it in place of inhaled steroids

Thanks

Re: Respiractin

I don't recommend it.

Respiractin mostly consists of spices that make the respiratory passages feel clearer. The Black Seed may have some benefits for asthma, but I couldn't find an unbiased source that said so. (The ********* article appears to have been written by someone selling the product.)

It does not appear to contain any ingredients which are really toxic, but the site is covered with testimonial advertising, the usual sign of a scam product. Some ingredients may cause upset stomach, and some could mess with the liver or kidneys in the long term, depending on the dose.

Re: Respiractin

I tried it afew years ago when my asthma was even worse than now.

I did not stop my other medications but I found it did nothing for me.
I did not take much at one time but I noticed no difference.

Just be careful stopping your medications with anything you try.

Good luck.

Re: Respiractin

Alright - I was basically searching for stuff that I can take before exercise so that I don't get hyperventilation later on in the day. How about some vitamin c and beta-carotene?

I tried taking 2 puffs of ventolin a few weeks ago and it didn't suit me at all - I didn't even exercise after taking it and breathing was worse

Re: Respiractin

Maybe 1 puff of Ventolin might suit you better than two.

Keeping well hydrated can help too.

Of course, if the Ventoiin really isn't helping, it might not be asthma at all.
