Autism and distinct odour?
I know questions have been asked about body odour before but mine is slightly different.
We have fostered numerous children and whilst they come to us smelling of home (own soaps/detergents etc) within a short time they adapt to our natural smell and their rooms smell like any other,
We have had a child in the past and currently my 12yr old nephew who are both on the spectrum. Both with us for several years. Whilst they do not smell differently in themselves their rooms both have had a very distinct smell which no amount of fabreeze, open windows etc will eliminate.
Just wondering if there was any studies/reasoning to advise why this might be (e.g. Does not bond with the family so senses do not follow normal protocols etc?).
