    Question is this Autism?

    almost 9 years old...my grandson.

He just NOW started really talking in sentences. they really don't make sense a lot of times. He had a babbling language for a few years, he would just babble like it was a different language. When he watches movies, he runs around and imitates what they're doing. My other grandson can't relate to him. He keeps running into other kids, and touching them and they get irritated. The kids in his apartment complex are making fun of him

He repeatedly says "glad to see you grandma" "how are you feeling today?"
just sentences that really don't have any original thought to them.

    Re: is this Autism?

Hi Grandma, I am a Grandma, also! 10 grandsons and only 2 granddaughters for me. I think having him assessed for Autism would be a place to start.

By no means am I an expert, I am here trying to find out what is wrong with my foster granddaughter. She was 9 in October and we have been taking her to doctors/neurologists for the past 7 years, when she came to live with my daughter.

I believe Autism has many facets, and causes different symptoms in different children. It also has different levels of severity. We have not got a diagnosis for my foster granddaughter, but something is going on with her. She is unlike most other children.

Wishing you the best with your grandson!
    J
