    High ANA and positive RNP

I was recently told by a Rheumatologist that I have a positive RNP but that there is a chance that it could be a false positive(also have a high ANA). He stated that if I respond to steroid treatment that it is NOT a false positive and that I do have MCTD. I had the best 4 days I had in months just 2 days after starting Prednisone and Hydroxychloroquine but now lowering the Pred to 2 times a day my symptoms are coming back. I'm 37 and my husband and I are wanting to have a child so I asked about a chest X-ray and echocardiogram to rule out lung and heart involvement and hitting a brick wall with my family Doctor agreeing to those tests even though my Rheumatologist said yes to them and asked her to order them. I'm being made to feel like I am being ridiculous to want these tests. Has anyone had this happen to them? Any advice?
