    Carpal Tunnel

I'v e had 4 ct surgeries from 2008-10, to date I've had the same symptoms as CT; numbness, tingling, and cold fingertips constantly along with along with numbness and coldness in my toes since my back surgery of 2007

Had two nerve studies within the last 1 1/2 years from the VA that says negative for CT but they have diagnosed me with autoimmune and collagen disease over the years

Is there a condition that could be mimicking CT?

I take gabapentin twice a day for the nerve pain but no luck

Yes, autoimmune disease can cause peripheral neuropathy that causes pain, numbness tingling in the hands and feet. Autoimmune disease is also a cause of Raynauds symptoms which are the same but caused by vascular spasm in hands, fingers, feet and toes. Itís aggravated by cold and causes the fingers and feet to turn blue, purple, red or dead white, sometimes a combination of all 3 colors. Gabapentine can help the peripheral neuropathy but you may need a higher dose. There are meds that can be prescribed for Raynauds too and the underlying autoimmune disease should be identified and treated as well. If you have color changes in hands and feet it is transient so take a picture when happening to show your Dr.
