emg and eeg results odd symptoms

I'm back. I've posted here before on my odd symptoms thread. Update: the neurologist did the emg and eeg tests with the needle and with the shocker thing lol. They said it came out normal! So now I will see a rheumatologist next week Friday. Boy I am scared for that. Lately I have been having neck and mid back pain. Every time I rotate my head I hear this crunching noise kind of like gravel and my head felt heavy like a bowling ball and it was straining my neck! After a few days of that I would have a clicking noise when rotating my head! My hands are still looking odd and inflamed, I feel like I have trouble forming words. Ladybud. I'm still scared of having als I know I told you my crp was high, I still have muscle twitching everywhere! Face, limbs, butt. .. my eyes are always blood shot never clear. Stomach is bloated I get weird stomach pains at the top and mid abdominal area. Fingers still look bad middle and ring finger are rubbing next to each other while pinky and pointer are further apart. Muscle weakness still there as well. I did have the doctor check my urine earlier this year and there was protein in it. They did it again and then there wasn't any. Any thoughts Ladybud or Vee? Or anyone else? Lately when I wake up in the morning I feel so horrible with body aches and feeling like I haven't slept. I appreciate any advice or opinions

Good to see you again Wondering Im so sorry you haven't yet found any relief. I know you worry about als...I don't know a lot about it really but didn't they do a head MRI? I could be wrong but isn't that how they diagnose it? I hope Ladybug shows up! Keep me updated...

Wondering, what were you told about that occurrence of protein in urine? I'd make sure that the rheum you're seeing next Friday is fully aware of this finding. Protein in urine can occur in lupus, and is a strong enough indicator that it's one of the 11 diagnostic criteria. (You generally, but not always, must meet 4 or more of those, but not necessarily simultaneously, meaning those checkmarks cumulate, like a painting in progress.) When protein is detected in urine, next sensible step is 24-hour urine collection.

Hope this helps with the list you're probably making to take along next Friday. And I really I hope this is your breakthrough appointment, as you're for sure overdue! Looking forward to updates & wishing you luck. With hugs, Vee

Re: emg and eeg results odd symptoms

Thank you so much Vee! Well 2 months after having my son I noticed I've been having the urge to urinate a lot and it looked like there was blood in my urine and also I had urinary incontinence. The doctors decided to take a urine sample I got a call saying that I had a little bit of protein and that they wanted to get another sample. They took another sample and found no more protein. Since then I've had an mri of my brain with and without contrast which came out fine, I did a blood test for myasthenia gravis and that came out clear... they did that because my eyelid was having spasms and then would get heavy and droop. Most mornings my eyelid is so hard to open it feels very heavy! This has been a new symptom but I feel like I have the flu at times with body aches. Still have tingling vibrating feeling in my limbs. Weirdest symptom is my leg feels like it's vibrating and I can see my muscles twitch at the bottom of my foot :/ there are so much more symptoms that I could list. .. but these are the ones bothering me. I also have a high b12 and folate. I took all my antibiotics for h pylori and still have weird pains in the upper abdominal area. And now I get these weird stabbing pains in my colon feels like... and still having constipation and blood on the toilet paper. I guess I'm really worried because my children are still young and I want to see them grow it doesn't help when all I think about is really terrible stuff. My 9 month old and toddler boys are what distracts me from all this and helps me to push forward. Yes vee I feel like this is over due as well. Thank you so much for the support. It truly does help so much. I will keep you updated for sure.

Wondering, for protein in urine, I think it when it's found in a 24-hour urine test, that there's a "threshold" number it must meet (or exceed) before being counted as meeting that particular criteria for lupus... But things other than lupus can also cause it: severe UTI, kidney stones, Interstitial Cystitis (IC is an autoimmune that specifically targets a single organ, the bladder), and ETC. (List not exhaustive.)

Also, I hope you get that blood in your stool addressed, that's a must-do. Have you seen a gastroenterologist? And I just remembered that my sis had terrible constipation before finally being dx'ed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Were your thyroid levels checked? I'd want that, since hypothyroidism can occur alone or in conjunction with other conditions.

In your shoes, I'd list all my issues in the order in which they appeared, omitting nothing, sentence fragments only & less than one page (doctors love brevity). Include dates and names of labs & tests, so dr. can request full copies of any he needs. (i.e., don't assume all were forwarded, even if you requested that.) Anyhow, I sure hope you'll soon learn whether some "single bullet theory" explains everything, or whether you're looking at multiple causes. Sending more hugs, Vee

Oh goodness! Now I'm freaked out lol. They checked my thyroid a while ago and they said it was normal I'm guessing it was a regular routine one done by the doctor here on base. So I know it wasn't anything extensive. . Lol. Ugh and now I realize that I have to cancel my rheumatologist appointment this Friday because it interferes with my son's school so my appointment will go back to its original time in November :/

I bet the doctor you saw on base did do the usual thyroid tests. They are considered routine, really, and lots of GP's run them. Gee, I hope you can find a way to keep that appointment, maybe beg a favor from someone? Enjoy your weekend, V.

Re: emg and eeg results odd symptoms

I'm going to ask if I can be on the waiting list :/there's no way of me making it. The rheumatologist is 1 1/2 hours away... and my appointment is at 8:30am and son's school starts at 8:50 am lol. So since my thyroid was normal does that mean I wouldn't have hashimoto thyroiditis? I know my grandma has issues with her thyroid not to sure though. They did an ultrasound of my abdomen and everything looked ok except for a shadow in my gallbladder. Oh and I keep telling my gp that there's blood on the tp after a bowel movement but he says that it could just be hemeroids... they did a stool sample and it came out normal :/ however I did have h pylori. Thanks Vee! You have a good weekend as well! Oh I'm seeing a physicists on September 2 too are there any other speacialist you think I should see? And do you know of any other auto immune diseases that have these symptons? I'm too scared to research anymore. Lol

Re: emg and eeg results odd symptoms

Hi. Did you ever get copies of your basic labs (CBC & metabolic panel)? How high is your B12 and Folate: only a little or crazy high? (If it's crazy high, I'd ask about it.) Also, have any other values ever been abnormal? Were other key vitamin levels checked, like D, for example? (Some are implicated in neuro-like tingling.)

With ongoing GI problems, have you seen a gastroenterologist for a consult and diagnostic tests? (I don't think just an occult test is really deemed adequate for people with ongoing issues.)

You write about the color & behavior of your hands. Do they hurt?

But I think you also should stay open to the fact that your symptoms might be from non-autoimmune causes---just run with your symptoms, as that doctor on the TV series used to remind his staff. Let us know what happens. Sending my best.

Re: emg and eeg results odd symptoms

Hey! Vee! Yes I have vitamin D deficiency and I've been taking magnesium zinc and calcium pill and feel a tiny bit better! Lol! My CRP was a little high and vitamin b12 and folate. I will check and get back to you. I know it was high high though. I saw the rhematotologist on Friday and she asked me all my symptoms and basically says my stomach issues I need to consult my gp and also my tongue issues consult my gp I guess for a referral elsewhere! I told her about my b12 and folate being so high she said that's good! :/ she did a physical and says my muscles are so strong and everything looks good. She says she doesn't know what more she could do because she only deals with auto immune diseases! So I said. . Well what about my crp being high? She says it wasn't but she can check my blood again.. ugh I don't know what in the world is wrong with me. If it's not auto immune could it just be my body going out of whack after having my third son? Vee I wish I could show you a picture of my hand. Lol. A few other things were a little off in my blood as well. But I'll get back to you today to see what you think. I did go through a bit of postpartum depression in the beginning of having my son but I do not have it anymore. I really though this was lupus or some other auto immune issue. Thanks Vee oh tomorrow I see a physicists
