Please Help - This injury is ruining my life.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I don't know where else to turn except for posting on message boards now and just hoping that someone knows what my problem is.
I have seen several different doctors and no one knows what is wrong with me.
It all started when i was at work and went to lift a 40lb box of batteries off of the floor. I knew that the box wasn't all that heavy and just kind of reached down and jerked the box up. When I did that, I felt a Tingling sensation in my right testicle. within a short time after that, I noticed that the right side of my stomach also hurt. The right side of my stomach/abdomen constantly hurt and felt heavy. The heavy feeling never goes away and the pain gets worse when ever i lift heavy things.
Soon after this happened, I started also getting sharp pains mostly in my right testicle but also in my left testicle too.
Also, it seemed like my right testicle was swollen and hung down between 1-2 inches further than my left testicle.
When I would lift anything heavy, all of my symptoms would almost immediately get worse.
Also the pain in my stomach/abdomen would almost start throbbing when I continuously lifted heavy things.
About three weeks after I felt the Tingling in my right testicle. I tried to pick up a similar box, to see if I could do it without any other problems.
When I lifted the box, I felt a popping feeling in my right testicle. Like something popped out of place? there was no pain associated with it just a weird popping feeling.
after i got hurt i stopped wearing boxer shorts and started wearing boxer briefs. To see if the added support for my testicles would make any difference. For the most part. my testicular pain has stayed away. I still get random pain and soreness in my right testicle, when I lift heavy things but not nearly as bad as before. All of my other symptoms have stayed the same though or gotten worse. Also, when I tell doctors that my right testicle now hangs down much lower than my left. they tell me it's normal. well. I'm 99% sure that it was never like that before I was injured.
This injury happened in April of 2014. I have seen several different doctors and had several different tests done.
-I have seen 3 different Urologists, One back doctor, One nerve doctor, Two general Surgeons, One pain management Doctor, One Gastroenterologist, and three different Doctors at walk-in clinics.
-they did a test on my testicles and it showed nothing
- they did mri's looking for a hernia but never saw anything.
- a general surgeon operated on me and looked for a hernia but only took my appendix out and that didn't help anything at all.
- they did a back mri and that only showed a bulging disk? but DR said nothing that would be causing all of my pain.
- they also did an image test on my hip and that also showed nothing besides cartilage damage.
-a nerve doctor also did tests and doesn't think it's a nerve problem.
- I had a nerve block done. That did seem to make the heaviness in my stomach mostly go away but the pain didn't go away or get any better.
When I first got hurt. My back seemed to feel okay. The longer that I have been hurt. The more I notice that my back also hurts now. The pain from my stomach/abdomen seems to wrap around into my back now.
When I had the nerve block done. The heaviness seemed to go away from my stomach. About a week after that. The heaviness returned to a small area above my right abdomen but below my right chest. The pain management doctor gave me injections in that area ( he claimed it was a rib ) I guess my highest rib. That did nothing for the pain or heaviness in that area. about ten days after that The new heavy feeling left that current area and was now in almost the middle of my back. A few days ago at work, while lifting several different things between 20-40 lbs. The middle of my back where that heaviness was, started to hurt so bad, I almost went to the emergency room. It was a radiating type of pain that almost felt like it was moving but staining in that one area of my back.
Also, from the very beginning of all of this. if you press on the bottom right side of my lower stomach. the pain goes from 0-10 in a split second. as soon as you press on that one certain point.
I saw a Gastroenterologist about this. she had no idea what my injury was but thought it was a physical injury and nothing cancer related.
So I have seen all of these different doctors and had all of these tests done. no one has any idea what is wrong with me but I am so tired of being in pain 24/7 it's basically making me depressed all the time and ruining my life. Let me also say that I have continued to work through all of this pain and only missed work when I had to have the exploratory surgery. The only thing they have given me for pain is tramadol. I take about 7 a day and they barely help with the pain but it's better than nothing. now worker's comp is giving me a hard time because the Doctors can't find a problem. I'm just praying that someone else has had a similar injury to this and might know what it is. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
