    Hypermobile Sacroiliac Joint dysfunction?

Just completed 4 months of Pt as I was having shocks mostly in my left buttock, occasionally in my right. The pain stays in my butt and doesnít travel down the leg. I also have trouble sitting down as it hurts on both sides. The back of both thighs feel tight and sometimes will burn...possibly nerve pain. My therapist did tell me that my pelvis doesnít stay in position. Though it happens on my left side, I feel the discomfort throughout both sides. My doctor now wants to try prolotherapy to tighten up the ligaments to make it more stable. Just wondering if this is a correct diagnosis before I go thru all of this. Thoughts? Those with sacroiliac problems...do you have symptoms such as these? Thanks for your time!

I would listen to your doctor IF he or she is a spine specialist or specializes in this type of thing. What type of doctor is recommending this?

Prolotherapy can be useful in tightening up lax ligaments. Another treatment for what you are describing is a *** injection.

Platelet-rich plasma (***) therapy takes a personís own platelets and injects them back into (in this case) the SI joint area to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints.

You might want to look into piriformis syndrome also as it causes symptoms similar to what you describe.
