Question Itching caused from nerves in back.

Does anyone have itching caused from their back? I have been told that itching can be caused by the nerves that are effected when injuries to the back happen.

I have been diagnosed with degenerative bone disease, bulging disk in my neck, and injury to the lower disks. I have terrible itching all over my body. It use to be only my arms for years but now is all over.

The dermo dr knows that the bad back can cause the nerves that run down the arms to itch but has never heard of it effecting the whole body.

I would love to hear some feedback.

Have you tried an antihistamine? Sounds like an allergy...maybe even to your detergent? Soap? Lotions?

Yes...happens to me and my husband. But there are other issues that can cause it. My friend has it all over her body and she takes Reactine. She is also allergic to some nuts and when her other allergies get bad, the itching does as well. Just to be clear, the itching is a separate issue as like an overexcitement of nerves that can be exacerbated by dry skin, allergies, scratching and extreme stress.

I suggest you have nerve conduction tests done as well as seeing a dermatologist who does allergy testing to diagnose the issue.
