    Pain after Kyphoplasty

I had a Kyphonplasty done on my T11 3 days ago. I have had no pain until today and it's not in my spine it's the muscle on the left side of my thoracic area. Is this normal?

    Re: Pain after Kyphoplasty

    Welcome to the board. Probably!

Have not had the procedure...but anything involving the spine has an effect on all surrounding soft tissue, fascia, structural alignment, etc.

Give it a couple weeks, making sure there is no infection...if it gets worse, get in touch with your surgeonís office! Use heat and ice, as directed by your surgeon! Ice and heat can be as effective as pain medication.

    Re: Pain after Kyphoplasty

I had t9 and t11 I also had pain about an inch to the left and right of each spot. It was very painful my doctor told me it is a ligament that gets stretched during procedure. The pain went away in about 2 weeks..I had my Kyphoplasty 8/1/19 but am still in pain at the bottom of my back left ribs. I had an additional mri on 9/23 but there were no new vertebral fractures. I asked the surgeon how he did a Kyphoplasty on an old healed fracture at t11 it was a schmorls node he said he changed the angle of the vertebrae? Now I can feel on the bottom of my ribs on the left side the t11 and t12 on top of each other on the left side.
