    spinal fusion

I have been reading with interest older posts regarding grinding and popping after spinal fusion surgery. I am almost severn weeks post surgery L4, L5, S1 fusion and am also experiencing similar problems. I describe my symptoms as cracking. Last week the cracking was so bad my wife felt it through the bed. Surely this can't be normal, has anybody else experienced this and what was the outcome. I don't go back to the consultant for another six weeks. I have experienced a lot of left hand side lower back pain since.

    Hi Nigel,

My advice is you should take something like Tylenol or Aleve, to bring the pain down. If your wife is so inclined maybe she could give you a massage. I haven't had back pain, so I don't really know the extent of the pain. Don't worry, you will be well in no time. You will be going to the doctor in 6 weeks, so if you have anymore concerns just ask the doctor.
