    Discomfort in my lower spine

I noticed there's discomfort in my spine when i arch my back. The feeling isn't sharp or painful but it would suggest something isn't right.

If i press my finger on my spine in that area it feels bruised, but there is no physical bruising on the skin.

The area of my spine where i feel this discomfort is approximately 75% down from the bottom of my neck.

This isn't causing me any trouble or pain with my daily life but i notice it when i'm in the gym.

I've applied an ice pack tonight and will continue to do that but wanted to see if anyone had advice or a suggestion as to what could be the cause.

Possibly a bulging disc or arthritis. I'd get an x ray of that area to see what is going on.

Adopting a very hunched sitting position when using computers can result in increased back and shoulder problems over time.

I was thinking it might be a herniated disc, i lift weights and last week was back squats. A guess could be over exaggerating that lumbar arch when stepping out of the squat with the barbell across my back? (just a guess of course)

Would you suggest i see an orthopedic surgeon or just a sports spinal therapist?

im now convinced it is the facets and not a slipped disc. the pain is only when i really arch my back.
