MRI Results
Can anyone tell me what this all means? My follow up appointment isn’t until Monday next week but I received the results and I’m hoping someone can help me out.
FINDINGS: Nomenclature is based on 5 lumbar type vertebral bodies. 2 mm degenerative retrolisthesis L5 on S1. Alignment is otherwise normal. No marrow edema. Normal distal spinal cord and cauda equina with conus medullaris at L2. No extraspinal abnormality. Unremarkable visualized bony pelvis.
T12-L1: Normal disc height and signal. No herniation. No facet arthropathy. No spinal canal stenosis. No right neural foraminal stenosis. No left neural foraminal stenosis.
L1-L2: Normal disc height and signal. No herniation. No facet arthropathy. No spinal canal stenosis. No right neural foraminal stenosis. No left neural foraminal stenosis.
L2-L3: Normal disc height and signal. No herniation. No facet arthropathy. No spinal canal stenosis. No right neural foraminal stenosis. No left neural foraminal stenosis.
L3-L4: Normal disc height and signal. No herniation. No facet arthropathy. No spinal canal stenosis. No right neural foraminal stenosis. No left neural foraminal stenosis.
L4-L5: Normal disc height and signal. No herniation. No facet arthropathy. No spinal canal stenosis. No right neural foraminal stenosis. No left neural foraminal stenosis.
L5-S1: Minimal loss of disc space height with preservation of T2 signal. Shallow left foraminal protrusion contacts the undersurface of the exiting left L5 nerve though does not appear compressed. No facet arthropathy. No spinal canal stenosis. No right neural foraminal stenosis. No left neural foraminal stenosis.
CONCLUSION:
1. [Minimal lower lumbar spondylosis. No significant canal narrowing.
2. Mild degenerative disc disease and small left foraminal fusion L5-S1. This contacts the exiting left L5 nerve though does not appear compressed.]
