Smile Hi everyone been away Prodisc

Hi everyone it has been awhile since I have posted last so I thought that I should send out a quick hello, and to let you know how I am doing since I had the prodisc surgery. I had the surgery on October 9 and so far I am feeling fantastic. I had a minor set back yesterday, when I fell going up the stairs I think my legs when kind of numb for a second there. Before I had the surgery I had level 10 pain levels for over 8 years, and now I am in a 4 level. I was taking Norco 10/325 every 4 hours before the surgery, and now I am taking Norco every 12 hours. I haven't started PT yet, and I think I will be starting that next week or so. I have an appointment with the ORTHO on monday, and I think I am starting to heal very well.
I have been having some leg pain, but not as bad as it was before, so I think this surgery has been the best decision I had made. The fall I had yesterday was a minor set back, as I think I may have strained the muscles in my back, but I know that too will heal over time. I really wanted to thank all of you for your support, encouragment, and for your friendship.
I will be posting more about the surgery at a later time, but I just wanted to let you all know that I have been thinking about you all.
I had the prodisc surgery at level L4-5 on October 9,2003. I have L3-4 and L5S1 starting to go bad... but will look into that in the future. Epideral blocks are helping.

Re: Hi everyone been away Prodisc

I also had a PRODISC replacement on 9/4/03 (L5/S1). My hospital stay was only two days, and I was back to work in 6 weeks. My only limitations are lifting (10 lbs max), exercising (no twisting, etc.), and no extended periods of walking or sitting. PT was not required. I feel so blessed to have had this surgery as my life is almost "normal" once again. I hope that your recovery goes as well as mine.
