anyone have kyphosis?

Welcome to the boards! I had a compression fracture to T11 and T12 which resulted in kyphosis. I had a two level anterior fusion with instrumentation done on Dec. 5th 2002. They straightened me up from 55 degrees to about 20. What degrees were/ are you? I dont have pain in my shoulder...well I do but I believe it is nerve pain from my accident not from the kyphosis. I dont know what thoracotomy is so I guess mines different than yours but I just wanted to chime in here and let you know I had kyphosis too.

July 2002- Rolled 3 wheeler, T11 T12 anterior wedged compression fractures.
55 degree kyphosis (curve forward)
Dec 5 2002- Anterior Surgery. 2 level fusion.
Rib removed, T12 removed, both used for bone in Cage. Also have plate and screws. Straightend up to about 20 degrees. Been in jewett, TLSO, Soft TLSO braces since July.

Dec. 11 2003- Find out I'm now curved to 30 degrees. Going for MRI

mine kyphosis was not from an accident it was frm a disorder i got it because i had scoliosis and i wore a brace for 2 years to correct it and it did only it gave me a hump back so 8 years later i decided to have it corrected beacause of breathing problems. my thoracic curve was 60 degrees when i was first diagnosed. before my surgery it was 77. now im not so sure but i think its 55.
