    Methylprednisolone

    Methylprednisolone

Has anyone taken methylprednisolone (sp?) for the treatment of lower back/leg pain?

I remember being given something like that several years ago for back pain and I seem to remember it helped quite a bit. I remember it came on a foil punch out card and you took several the first day, then a few less each day over the space of a week or two. (or I could be reversed on that)

Anybody taken this and do you remember if it was terribly expensive?

[I][COLOR=Purple][SIZE=3][FONT=Georgia]Frequently called Medrol Dosepak....steroids to be taken over a 7 day period. Can be very helpful for some people, especially for inflammation. It always helps me a lot.

    Re: Methylprednisolone

I was prescribed some back after my first sugery failed, and they helped alot, but the end result was another surgery 5 weeeks later. Funny this is, now my family doc gave me some predinsone (sp?) for this horrible case of poison ivy.

    Re: Methylprednisolone

Just started this med today, as a mater of fact. I'm 6+ months post op from laminectomy/discectomy & had a flare up. Didn't feel like it made a huge difference several months ago, but will try again. My insurance copay was only $7.00. Guessing it's not very expensive.

    Re: Methylprednisolone

Good news! Steroids are working. I've had a noticable reduction in pain over the last 2 days. I would recommend them now. Hope this helps.
