Re: ongoing pain

I'm not even 30 years old and have had 6 surgeries in my life. I kinda know how you feel. It even takes a toll on your family (Wife, kids). I just take each day as a new day. I know that I will never be the same as before and I accept that. I try to make real expectations. I take my wife with me to the Dr so she feels like she is a part and undertands what I go through. I just try to understand and do something for myself every once in a while. I went to get a massage the other day for myself for example. Hope everything goes well for you and just take each day at a time.

Good luck

Re: ongoing pain

I'm older than you but when I was your age I had had 3 surgeries at the L5-S1. In '97, I had another fusion there, so we have something in common. What an awful thing to share, huh?
I also have spinal stenosis, bone spurs, bulging thoracic disc, bursitis, along with other stuff.
I have no special tricks for getting through it. I just take each day as it comes and go with the flow. Luckily, I have a great husband who is understanding and cares more about me than whether the house is in tip top shape. I do what I can on good days and on bad days, I just try to get by. I have the morphine pump; without it the pain is so severe that it is unbearable.

I'm glad you found the board and hope you will feel welcome here.
