    Question radio frequency ablation

My doc is going to do a medial branch block next month to see if radio frequency ablation will help me. I have back and leg pain. I forgot to ask him a question. Is radio frequency ablation for back pain mainly or is it for leg pain?

    Re: radio frequency ablation

I have had several of the RF's done, mine were to take the nerves out of my facet joints to prevent the arthritis pain. It did not help my leg pain. I had some relief for the leg pain with a lumbosacrial??? epidural. That helped me quite a bit. To answer your question it is for back pain. I hope it works for you. I would recommend sedation for this procedure. Good luck to you!!
