Lightbulb X-ray shows L4-L5 gettin a little thin but...

we don't know how bad the nerve is pinched.
I was wondering if it's possible to work it back in?
I am going to a Chiropractor College/Treatment Center and they did take x-rays finally ;so we seen something . He also said there were the very back bones of the spine behind the disc were touching because I asked what the white spot on the bone was, he told me deposits of some sort.
I hurt my back by doing a small lean forward in mid September before an ice hockey pick-up game to bend to tie my left skate. I was still able to skate the whole game but before I went out on the ice I felt a dull achey pain in the lower left of my back and ended up slumped slightly to the right by the time I went home. I have been down for a few weeks now , no ice hockey, but I am able to get moving finally in the morning and get perfectly straight after alot of pinching and pain in my tail bone area. I have to lean or lift my top upper bod on a counter or table and move to the right (sounds sick but) it helps me straighten out and be able to be straight again and sit if i have to.
I stayed in bed prior to this and tried not to do much at all for two weeks and it seemed to help til I was able to get up. It is wierd I was only able to sleep at night sitting up so that's how I slept. The other morning I had a real hot shower and went to put a sock on and really felt a terriblest pinch I have felt with this about five days ago. Since then it's wierd I can sleep laying down at night now with strong pain pills but I wake up when the pills wear off. It seems as I lay there to sleep the pain starts real small then becomes terrible and I get restless leg syndrome or something but wasn't as bad as before when I couldn't get comfortable from the pain at all. My blood pressure went up from it and heart rate but it seems it's when im adjusting to pain. If I awake and am getting tops 4-5 hours of sleep a night which is passable for me but would like more. I'm also having ahrd time with bowel movements but not bladder so I am taking it may be pain releivers doing the constipation.
[I]Can I do my own traction if it brings relief?
Is letting your hips and legs hang from the arms sort of like traction?
When I lift my upper body after laying for a night to one side and I moving around a bone or just moving muscles that it feels like I am moving my spine at all?
Any replies welcome and appreciated, thank you.

Re: X-ray shows L4-L5 gettin a little thin but...

You need more definitive answers regarding your back. Stop the chiro care for now and seek some proper medical attention. An xray will not tell you enough and an MRI is probably needed.

See a regular GP this early on and then he/she can refer you to a spine specialist from there.

Don't mess around with your back. Read our many posts and you will quickly understand.

Let us know how are you doing. Feel better.

Justoneofus nailed it! Ditto on what she said. This is above Chiro College, Find a spine specialist, have you Family Doc refer you to them, sometimes they will take you without a referral, and an MRI will be so much better than an x-ray. Trouble with the bowels is not the drugs, they may cause constipation, but if you have some control problems, it sounds like a pinched nerve from a bulging disc. Chiro's mean well, and will do what they can, but they canít fix any damaged disc, only realign what is out of place. I wish I could still skate and gear up. I put it off to long and damaged my nerves to my feet. Find a good Spine Doc, even if you have to drive to the better hospitals in your State.

Thumbs up Re: Yes...

thing is im still working because I have to be on call and get this job so I get great benefits so I can get seen by them high dollar people yep. My bowel movement is slow but I can manage to go I thought I couldnt but I can move bowel and bladder when needed, bladder way better than bowel but, just don't like the pain pills that bind me up. It's not a good feeling.

Yes they can do what they can at Chiro they can, right on, I really miss hockey and they told me I could go back to it but I dont know. Why risk it
Even tho its a big loss of fun, theres other skills to do that dont ask alot of the body no more. Im 31 now, I still think I'm 18, I'm strong like it but not for very long, time shows.
I found going for a brisk walk in the morning really helps to get blood flow going and totally eliminate almost all pain, not as good as loritabs(codone) but almost and its natural, I dont like the after effects of pain hiders. Sure they help sleep but thats about it. Well Im not waking up hunched to one side like before instead im straight but alot of pain in my tailbone area now its like a big toothache that only goes away mostly from moving around. I just want it gone. Thanks for the replies, I'd love to hear more ideas on what it could be but I need to hear more like yous on waht it specifically is. Thanks.
