Question For The Guy's

I wasn't sure to post here or where. I had a Laminectomy / fusion L4-L5
After I do somthing to aggravate my back and leg's my penis goes numb. My wife is getting a little upset because I can get an erection , the problem is I can't ejaculate. It really doesn't bother me if I dont ,but it hurts her feeling's. She thinks its her fault. You would think she would rather have it that way, Oh some day's It works well as long as I don't over do it.

Has anyone ever experienced this ? I mean my whole penis is totally numb can't feel it. She wants me to try Viagra , but I don't need that. ( yet ) I'm 41 yrs old. I tried to mention it to my surgeon and he told me he isn't that kind of Dr. I felt embarrased then. Maybe because of my back injury ????

Re: Question For The Guy's

I used to get tingling there and my doc told me that the L4/5 area would not cause that; however, you should really see a neurologist if you lost sensation...

Re: Question For The Guy's

Hey Shawley.... Im sure your wife knows about your pain and what you are going through. Did you explain to her that you are totally numb there? If so, then why is she still insulted and thinks it is her? If you could not get an erection, then I could see a bigger issue... Viagra probably wont help, as it is for those guys that cant get an erection... Sounds like this only happens when you aggravate your back, so hopefully, things will go back to normal soon..

Re: Question For The Guy's

and I thought I was the only one, I was 100% that way before my fusion, and it is about 75% better after the fusion, but still have times ( one out of three times) where it is as you described. It is related to a nerve issue though at the L4-L5 area. It happens when I am sore or my surgery area is swollen. I can say that the fusion has helped in that area to regain some of what I had lost. But I had problems doing BM's also before surgery, couldnt push them out all the way. That too has improved after the fusion. You may have some nerve damage prior the the surgery that may or maynot come around after healing. I hope you get that loving feeling back.

Re: Question For The Guy's

Hey guy's I found out what it was.. I stopped my pain meds for 2 day's and I'm back to almost normal. I ask my PM Dr. and he told me it's from my perc's. He said I could get a shot or get some Viagra for it..I told him I'll just stop meds for 2 days before.
