Re: causes of pars defect
How do you get a Pars defect when your not an athelete that plays a high impact sport or if you have not been in an accident? I was diagnosed with a Pars defect after I had fractured it by lifting a hevy item. So Im a little unsure of how I got a Pars defect. I had no back problems untill I fractured it. I have a level 1 fusion at the L5,S1 with fixation and bone grafts.
You get pars defect when you have spondylolithesis or spondylosis. You probably have a vertabrae that is slipping back and forth over an adjacent vertabrae.
