lower back, leg, and knee pain. info please

for about 4 months i have been having lower pain on and off. but for the last 2 weeks its been permanent and worse lately its been my lower back all the way to my knees with constant pain and i dont know want to do. My medicene doctor took me to get x-rays on my Lumbar spine. My doctor was supposed to help me get a specialist but he's not really helping me.This is really starting to bother me.

here is what the xrays said.

HISTORY: The patient is a 42-year-old female with nontraumatic back pain for approximately two months.

TECHNIQUE: AP, oblique, lateral and spot views of lumbar spine.

FINDING: There are five lumbar-type vertebral bodies which demonstrate a very mild broad-based scoliosis convex to the right. There is no evidence of compression fractures or bony lesions. There is marked facet arthropathy at the L5-S1 level with associated discogenic changes and a grade-1 anterolisthesis of L5 upon S1. No definite spondylolysis is noted. There are degenerative changes in the sacroiliac joints bilaterally. The paraspinous soft tissues are remarkable.

1. Grade-1 anterolisthesis of L5 upon S1 most likely related to discogenic disease and facet arthropathy

2. Bilateral sacroiliac joint arthropathy

3. Mild scoliosis of the spinal column

Could some one help me and give me advice im looking for help me out. I just want to stop the pain.

Hello - welcome here. WIth these findings on your xray, and your symptoms the next step is to get an MRI to check the nerves and soft tissues. The specialists that deal with this stuff are either ortopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, or also conservative management by internal medicine doctors who specialize in stuff like this, or there are ones called physiatrists. Not psychiatrists! I have knee pain and shin pain too from L5 -S1 that has worked it's way into my feet now. I am doing physical therapy and getting an epidural injection next month for the pain.

Call the doctor and see what is the next step with them. or if you can get a referral or at least get that MRI ordered! You can take responsibility for yourself these days, doctors are all busy and you need to follow up and let them know you are hurting bad and need the next step.
