[QUOTE=Gidge702;4671850]Hi Mat, I just wanted to thank you for your post. After so many negative posts about his surgery, I was worried about going through with it. I have been in excruciating pain for almost 5 months now and have tried EVERYTHING! I am desperate for my life back, as I have two children under 2 who I have not picked up in months. I was ecstatic when I got to the end of your post and realized that your surgeon (Dr. bassewitz) is my surgeon! Small world. I couldn't be happier to know I'm in great hands. I am now looking forward to life my back. Surgery is scheduled for 2/2/11. How long were you off of your feet immediately following surgery?

    How did it go?

Amazing! I now have zero pain. In fact, the only pain I experienced at all was at the incision and it was minimal. This surgery has been like a miracle to me and I am so glad I found Dr. Bassewitz. I look to forward to my 6 week mark so that I can start exercising and strengthening my core. I have began walking already and actually enjoy it. I appreciate all of your advice and I am so glad that I can add another successful surgery story to this site!

it can reherniate that easy, iced, stretching, tens unit, PT will make you more sore, but will be neccessary for recovery......I am three months out of L5S1 Herniation of 11mm. I have good times and gad times, learn to do things differently..nerve regeneration could take up to a year...slow and easy wins the race..good luck..any questions feel free to ask ..... Michael
