With the type of symptoms you note you need to see your primary care physician ASAP. Then he/she can take x-rays and determine if you may need CT or MRI. If they do find anything you can then be referred to an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and/or Neurosurgeon. Also consider going for massage if that helps.

You should be able to find good pictures of spine (anatomical spine pictures and diagrams) on the web. While you can't be sure exactly what you are feeling, a diagram may help. Just know that in different people, different levels are more prominent to the touch

That sounds like muscle spasms. You need to see a doctor ASAP for testing and referral to a specialist.

There are an infinite number of possible causes ranging from mere muscle strain all the way to significant cervical disc and vertebrae problems. Can you go to some kind of urgent care where at least they'd do a cursory exam and maybe give you some prescriptions? Or go to the Emergency Room at a county hospital which accepts patients without insurance (though they can bill you for all charges).
what causes muscle spasms??
Like SpineAZ said the causes are too numerous to list...
Mine personally are caused by torn fascia (connective tissue) so the muscles are tring to keep themselves aligned via constant contraction...Sadly they don't communicate with each other in when they aren't operating autonomically like breathing or purposefully like when you move them of your own accord... so no cooperation means disharmory which results in battle of the muscles to align, equals muscle spasms.

I don't have any pain in lower back at all... sometimes its sore but thats everyone....I've got something new going on and don't know if its due to my neck pain or I've pulled something..I don't remember pulling anything if I did..I've got pain on the left side of my buttocks that runs all the way down the back of my leg that goes in the middle of my foot..it's hurting pretty much all the time I can bend my leg and it seems to hurt worse..I think I'm falling apart

It sounds similar to sciatic nerve pain. If you look at a picture of the sciatic nerve you'll see how it travels down the leg. Many people with sciatica don't have much, or any, back pain although sciatic pain originates in the low back.
The neck is similar. Often people have pain down the arm and into fingers but no neck pain. Or they think they have a shoulder problem and later find out the shoulder pain is caused by a cervical nerve being impinged (pictures of cervical dermatomes show the nerve paths).
