Diabetic, spin surgery on L5 L4, & L3-L4. PAINFUL

i AM A DIABETIC AND HAD FUSION ON 4 DISKS, 6 WEEKS AGO. AT FIRST THINGS SEEMED FIND. I WAS IN A LOT OF PAIN, BUT I LOOKED FORWARD TO BEING OUT OF PAIN AFTER THERAPY. TWO WEEKS AFTER SURGERY I STARTED HAVEING SCIATICA PAIN THROUGH OUT MY LEFT LEG TO FOOT. ALSO, I'VE HAD MY FOOT GO COLD AS ICE AND OTHER TIMES IT FEELS LIKE IT'S ON FIRE. ANYTIME I PUT THE SHEET OVER ME AT NIGHT, IT STARTS. I HAVE SEEN MY DOCTOR AND HE WANTS ME TO HAVE A CAT SCAN TO SEE IF THE SCREW IS ON THE SCIATICA. ALL I KNOW IS THAT I'M IN PAIN THAT BRINGS ME TO TEARS ALMOST EVERY NIGHT AND THAT'S AFTER TAKING VICODINE, OXYCODINE, AND 900 MG OF A DIFFERENT PILL THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME. IS THE HOPE THAT I WILL EVER BE OOUT OF PAIN AGAIN. AFTER READING THESE, I'M GETTING DEPRESSION.

Have the CT scan that your doctor wants. Remember that you are only 6 weks out from major surgery. It takes time for your back to heal. It takes time for the nerves to settle down and quit being inflamed. When they do the surgery, the doc moves the nerves around..and they don't like that. The swell up and you end up having to wait to let the swelling go down so the pain will subside and the irritation. It can take up to a full year for you to have complete healing from this type of surgery... so patience is truly a virtue.....

    good luck.
