Epidural Injection for C6-C7 disc rupture

I had nerve root pressure that caused moderate to severe pain in the right shoulder, arm, hand. Was managing pain with ibuprofen, but motor function began to decline one month after onset so I got the cortisone shot today. Pretty good results and all I'm feeling now is the tennis elbow and forearm tendonitis that I developed as a reaction to the nerve pressure. I am asking you all how to make the best of this and make it last. Realizing there is some luck involved but I can influence this outcome, I'm seeking your advice.

Re: Epidural Injection for C6-C7 disc rupture

Hi Betterboy: I am from Valley, WA. I had the epidural injections for a C5-6 disk that had ruptured, plus I had a large bone spur in that area. I had a series of three. They did not do any good and I needed a fusion at that level. However, when neurosurgeon got in the surgery, the disk had calcified on one side and there was no way any shot was going to dissolve calcium or bone spur. Just my experience; these shots do help my low back. However, I have three torn disks there and the last three didn't help as much as they have previously. But they did help for inflammation. Take care, PatG

Hi Pat. Thanks so much for the reply. Valley looks like it's in a beautiful part of Washington, and one I've never visited. I have been to Priest Lake.

So how long do the hiccups last? With some effort I can get rid of them, but they always come back. Especially whenever I eat. How frustrating. But I'm certainly not trying to whine, cause the pain is mostly gone on the first day after the shot.
