Intolerable Upper Back Pain when Sitting
Hi there,
I am hoping that maybe someone experienced the same issue as me. About a month ago I woke up with a bit of back pain after presumably sleeping the wrong way. I was having some tingling in my my arm - very minor and painless. Three days later the pain got to an intolerable intensity that has lasted until today.
The pain is very very localized. It is very close to my left shoulder blade, about 5 vertebrae's down. It is not near the vertebrae or in between the blades, but rather is fairly close to the left shoulder blade. When I reach around I can place pressure with it on my fingers.
The pain is excruciating everytime I sit. It feels like someone is slowly jabbing a pen in the area and tearing it upwards. The bigger problem is that I feel like my left arm, (between my shoulder and elbow and moreso in the back of the arm) weighs 100 lbs. The rest of my arm becomes immediately numb and tingly. The inside of the arm feels painful.
This pain is interfering with my life. I can't drive for more than 5 minutes. I cant sit with clients, with co-workers or even sit to socialize. I can't sit at a table and eat. I can't sit and go out for dinner. I can't sit with my kids. I can sit and slump down in the couch. The pain immediately goes away with lying down on my back.
Has anyone experienced a similar issues? I obviously have a feeling that there is neural interruptions somewhere. It's just that it is controlling every aspect of my life and work.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
