    Numbness above kneecap (cause ??)
    Hi, I'm a newbie here. Thought I would ask opinions about some numbness in my right leg. Having sciatica issues too. My history is; Anterior Cervical Dissection Laminectomy in 2004 and a Lumbar Disectomy in 2006 (both due to a car wreck in 11/2000). Just wondering if anyone has had any similar types of symptoms? Thanks - I appreciate and have learned a lot since discovering you today.

    Welcome to the board. You may be having some lumbar spine nerve compression that is causing the numb patch on your thigh. It would be a different spinal nerve than what is causing your sciatic pain.

    It may be that you have a couple bulging discs that are irritating the nerves.
    At what level was your lumbar discectomy?
