Hi everyone,
New on this site, wanting to find out about RHIZOLYSIS and who may perform this procedure in Brisbane Australia?
If anyone has had this procedure what kind of results were achieved? Also costs involved and recovery period details would be greatly apreciated. Thankyou in anticipation

Re: Rhizolysis
If you want to run a search to see how this topic has been covered in the past, type "rhizatomy" or "ablation" into the search box...these are the more common names for radiofrequency ablation in the US.
A needle type device is inserted near the nerve that is to be treated. An electrical current is applied that deadens the nerve so that the patient will not feel pain coming from that nerve. It generally lasts anywhere from a couple months to up to a year or so.
I believe it "works" in something like 80% of cases. In the US the procedure is done by pain management specialists who are for the most part anesthesiologists with additional training in pain management. Also physiologists are trained to do this procedure. I'm sorry but I do not know enough about healthcare in Australia to be able to suggest who you should see for this procedure.
