vibration in heel
Just started PT about 2 weeks ago, thought I left my phone on and was on the floor by my feet...but then noticed it was my medial heel on left left...I do have foot drop and a recent L5-S1 disc replacement 3 months ago...just wondering if this is something to be concerned does not hurt just slightly annoying...

Re: vibration in heel
Depending on whether you have some numbness in that foot, it could be regarded as a good sign. ;)

When my feet were numb, I didn't really have weird sensations in them. Even two years past my last fusion, I am now experiencing some odd sensations, some of which can be painful at times...but they are a good sign because it shows the nerves aren't dead and there is some regeneration going on.

Your sensation of vibration may be a similar type thing. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: vibration in heel
Mike, How did your feet feel before surgery? And immediately after surgery? And now? Foot drop started when? Did it go away post surg ever? Like tell story again about feet pre & post surgery include nerve anything & foot drop details? Depending it could be good, transient or indicate cauda equina syndrome that would require immediate treatment. Include details.Just read that when nerves are acting up they cant heal. Complete pain relief helps nerves to rest & regenerate. Thank you, gmak

Re: vibration in heel
Before this last surgery disc replacement' had foot drop at time of injury 10/1010 which has not gotten better, just plain numb. new pain started shortly after starting pt' getting the vibration on the left foot again, but in different area that was affected...vibrates on bottom of heel and for first time today there was a sharp pain on front of foot near the ankle while intermittently vibrates too...before , at time of injury the nerve pain affected on lateral calf and medial foot...its numb now and not showing signs of promise...just wondering any had similar instance and how did they go about what next tho do... thanks all

Re: vibration in heel
I had this exact same thing before surgery, for over a year. I agree as stated above, I'm sure it's a good sign post op. I completely understand though how annoying/maddening this can be!

Re: vibration in heel
Hi mike, I have been having increasing numbness in feet, sometimes pain. Very weird how it buzzes. All started after had to change dr, no meds... bottom line is my dr explained when i had well controlled pain it produced a rest &regeneration to spinal nerves. When meds way down,& pain uncontrolled my nerves go into constant working, nerves get inflamed, swollen, & nerve symptoms increase. He thinks when i am well controlled again pain wise the nerves can rest & heal & nerve symptoms will decrease. So, if this is something associated with increasing pain or other nerve symptoms i would contact dr. Hope teteri is right about the vibrating meaning the nerves are connecting the signal again, that is great! But, if any increased pain or this vibrating feels like somethings wrong i would ask dr about all symptoms. Thanks.
