[QUOTE=Abc4545;5113763]For nearly a month now, I have been having HORRIBLE pain in my tailbone. At first, it just hurt to stand up. But now, it hurts to sit or stand. When I stand, it feels like my tailbone is getting hit by a hammer or some object. Sometimes, it feels as if it knocks the wind out of me. The weird thing is, is that I haven't fallen or done anything to injure my tailbone, it randomly started hurting. But, I do play my Xbox360 daily when I have nothing to do, and I lay on the floor when I play. (Even though I do have a chair to sit in.Lol) So, I was wondering if it was irritated by laying on the floor? But I put cushion underneath of my tailbone so it won't be such a hard surface.
Anyone else?

Hi abc, When I was in college my college roommate had this same thing happen to her, she said it felt bruised at first, no injury, then it became where it felt like she was being hit. It was a pilonidal cyst, & she had to have emergency surgery, it was a bad infection, but until the day she got really sick nothing showed on the outside as in redness or swelling. Her dr said it was found in soldiers from bumpy jeeps so maybe the floor could be aggravating it or just your tailbone in general. In my opinion i think you should see the dr to find out if it is this & if there is a chance it could be cleared up with antibiotics and stop need for surgery. I hope that it is not a pilonidal cyst and you get better soon.
