    Question fusion complications?

Has anyone experienced or know of any Fusion surgery and Shogrin syndrome/complications. I have the Sjogrens Syndrome and can't have an artificial disc because of it. Any info will be very much appreciated . I'm concerned about the plif surgery.

    Re: fusion complications?

I also have Sjogren's Syndrome and I've had a 3 level cervical fusion. My doctor never brought it up as a problem. What did your doctor say the problem would be?

I have to see my doctor again this week. I will let you know what he says about it she hasn't specifically mentioned it yet but I am concerned.

I have now visited my doctor and I asked about the Sjogren's syndrome complications for fusion surgery.. My doctor informs me that it will not affect the fusion of the vertebrae whatsoever. I was told that the Sjogren's could flare up and cause me some discomfort but it will not stop the vertebrae from fusion. I hope this information helps others in the same situation thanks for all of your answers and support..

I have Sjogrens and I had an artificial disk at L5S1 ten years ago. I wasn't yet diagnosed with Sjogrens at the time. Last year I had a 3 level fusion on the next 3 disks. I was fully fused at my last appt. last month. No major complications from either surgery.
